REGULAR MEETING OF NOVEMBER 7, 2000

 

A Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Ocean Springs was called to order by Mayor Ainsworth at 7:00 p.m. on November 7, 2000, at City Hall in the City of Ocean Springs. Present were Aldermen Jalanivich, Garrard, McDonnell, Cody, Cosper and Denyer, and City Clerk Adrienne Howell. Alderman Gill and City Attorney Oscar Jordan were absent.

At this time Mayor Ainsworth opened the lot cleaning hearing regarding the property at 1303 Porter Ave., parcel no. 60137148.000. The City Clerk reported she had received no written communication from the property owners. Property owners William and Johanna Strowd were present for the hearing and reported the lot had been cleaned, the house had been cleaned out and a roof put on it. Their plans were to renovate the house. The Board directed the Building Official to follow up on the matter. Mayor Ainsworth then declared the hearing closed.

Motion by McDonnell, seconded by Jalanivich, to remove from the agenda the issue of lot cleaning for 1303 Porter Ave., parcel no. 60137148.000.

Motion by Jalanivich, seconded by Garrard, to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Mississippi Power Co. and the City of Ocean Springs and to authorize the Mayor to sign said agreement on behalf of the City.
