The term of the Directors was amended to two years at the October 21 General Meeting, to begin with the 2003 board. Also approved was a budget that includes landscaping for the front and rear entrances and preliminary evaluation of new and/or additional street lights.
Your sprinkler system at the north and south entrance has finally been completed. I know your homeowner group has been trying to get this done for a long time. Running the water to the area took a lot of effort and I thank Public Works Director Andre Kaufman and Water Supervisor John Russell for completing the work too much disruption. The island at the Government Street entrance was damaged a bit but Public Works assures me that this will be repaired by the city soon. I'll be ready to post some pictures as soon as your planting is done.
I have included the cost of the additional streetlights discussed at your last meeting in the Capital Improvement list that the Board is working on. As you know, the City is experiencing a cash flow problem and at present the focus is on "weathering the storm" of the current economic crisis. Rest assured, however, that I will keep you informed as this situation develops.
